On a recent trip to the Redwoods, where we have breathtaking views of the ocean, hug our kids, grandkids, and the Redwood trees surrounding the house, we often pick up a daily edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. There was a fine editorial about my favorite place never to shop by Mark Morford. One of the summary paragraphs from his piece poetically demands to be published on this blog.
“I do not shop at Wal-Mart. I may never shop at Wal-Mart, given its notoriously horrible labor practices, brutal business tactics and effortless murder of all love and hope and joy from the retail experience. The stores are the George Bushes of the retail world -- drunk with power and cheaply made.
