A view over the handlebars

When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man's convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became. Here, for once, was a product of man's brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. Ate some wild mushrooms...

They were boletes and we have a patch of them near the house. RA fried one up in olive oil. It was OK. I have not seen them on the property before but maybe that is because we have not been here on the first of November. A few small marks were on the fruit or cap of the shroom suggesting it was shared earlier by a small creature. Maybe we will try another one tomorrow.
